Chihuahua - Small - Adult - Male - Dog - Romeo
Description
My rescue story starts at the Union County Animal Shelter. It's a very scary place to be, there is no vet care, no warm beds, no laps to sit in, just a cold cement floor and the hope that if you look cute enough or wag your tail hard enough, someone will come and take you away. You get five days, and five days only, to win someone's heart or... Well, I don't want to upset you, so I'll just say what happens next is not good. Luckily for me, my picture went out and the founder of Lucky Dog Rescue agreed to take me in. I knew my time was up that Friday morning, so I crossed my paws and hoped really hard, and sure enough she came for me 30 minutes before the bad stuff started. While she was there, she fell in love with another dog named Haylee, and took her out too! I heard Haylee is in a forever home in New York City. Sure must be nice to have a home of your own... But, I digress. Anyway, I came to live at Lucky Dog Rescue and life has never been so good. I get to snuggle with my foster mom on a couch, and play with other dogs, eat regular meals, and all sorts of wonderful things. I can be a little shy at first, but my foster mom understands that and does everything she can to make me happy and comfortable. She has many other dogs here, and we play together outside a lot. They are all bigger than me, so sometimes they can be bullies, but then I just get to go inside and watch TV with my foster mom, so I don't mind. Once, I had a lady that met me who said she didn't like dogs, only cats. But, she liked me! I'm not sure if it was a compliment or not... But my foster mom said it's because I'm a calm, quiet, loving boy and not boisterous and loud like some of the other dogs here. Some of the other dogs talk about having fenced backyards and active families that will take them running or hiking or swimming... I just want a quiet family that will love me and snuggle with me. Having a comfy couch helps, too! Anywho, as much as I love life in my foster home, the other dogs have told me such amazing things about forever homes. They said I might not be bullied, or have to share the attention of my mom with so many other dogs, and that I might get to do fun things like "go on vacation" or so many other things foster dogs don't get to do. I can't wait! I am about 12 lbs and two-years-old. I am great with other dogs and *some* cats. I would be best suited for a home without small children because of my anxiety. I am housetrained, cratetrained, and leashtrained as well as neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, microchipped, and heartworm negative. Well, my friends here at my foster home are calling me to come back and play. If you want more info about me, please contact the rescue at adoptions@lucky-dog-rescue.org or 864-804-0990. I hope to meet you soon!
