To learn more about our animals and our adoption policy visit our website at www.missallisrescue.org . Alli is a sweet Great Pyrenees who came to us emaciated and very shy. She had apparently been on herown for quite some time, and she'd seen very few kind hands. She trembled and moved slowly, but quickly learned that affection was a nice thing. Her pictures show her improvement, for she was much skinnier the day we picked her up (visit our website to see her the day we brought her into rescue). Unfortunately, her coat had to be clipped down due to the poor condition it was in, but it is slowly growing back and she's gaining weight, as well. Before long she'll be the beautiful Great Pyrenees on the outside that she is on the inside. Alli is shy and acts as if she's been brow beaten, but she has a very loving heart. She loves to lay her big head in your lap while you work or watch tv, and enjoys receiving hugs. She does very well with other animals, although another dominant dog would not be ideal in her new home, and a male dog would be best. She really loves cats, and will try to play with them. If there is a cat in her new home, it would be best that it be a laid back cat that doesn't mind her goofy, uncoordinated side when she tries to play. She has not been around children, but any loud noise or screaming by young ones might frighten her. Although Alli was originally thought to be older, a senior pyr at about 9yrs old, she doesn't appear to be that old at all. She really acts quite young with her buddies, playing and romping around the house, or even if they are outside "protecting" the house and yard. So we feel that she's much younger, perhaps 6-7, and we realize that her shyness causes her to appear much older. She tends to move very slowly and cautiously, which is easily interpreted as being difficult for her. Well, we're here to tell you that when she chooses to play or run, she can move quite like a young whippersnapper! Her personality just isn't that of a 9yr old, so we feel that she has a lot of life left in her...and she deserves to be spoiled in that life. Alli will require a fenced yard or to be walked on a leash daily, without exception, due to her breed. Alli will provide someone with a great deal of love and devotion, only asking the same in return. She deserves the life of luxury...one she's never known.
